1. Watch the videos

Dassault Systèmes videos hosted on MySolidWorks: they open in a new tab and a free account is enough. Watch them in order.

2. Key takeaways

1

Interference Detection lists every shared volume: run it before any drawing or order.

2

The exploded view is built step by step and is reused as is on the assembly drawing.

3

Display states save what is hidden or transparent, without creating a configuration.

4

Assembly Visualization shows at a glance the heaviest parts or those without properties.

Tip

Exclude fasteners from Interference Detection (fasteners option): otherwise, cosmetic threads create dozens of false positives.

3. Do the exercise

On an assembly of your choice:

  • run Interference Detection and fix the real overlaps
  • create a three step exploded view
  • create a display state with a transparent housing
✓To check: Interference Detection only reports accepted cases (fasteners, intended press fits).
