1. Watch the videos
Dassault Systèmes videos hosted on MySolidWorks: they open in a new tab and a free account is enough. Watch them in order.

Video 2▶Setting up a FloXpress StudyThe four pages of the study: geometry check, fluid, inlet and outlet.↗
Video 3▶FloXpress - Solving the Model and Interpreting ResultsRun the calculation, read the trajectories and reuse the study on another configuration.↗
2. Key takeaways
FloXpress is for a first pass: it calculates the flow in the closed volume of a model, with simplified assumptions.
Setup follows four pages: geometry check, fluid, inlet and outlet.
Flow trajectories show the path of the fluid and reveal dead zones or accelerations.
The same setup can be reused on another configuration: handy for comparing two variants.
Tip
Create two configurations of your part (for example two passage diameters) and run FloXpress on each: comparing the trajectories tells you more than a single result.
3. Do the exercise
On a simple fitting or manifold with one inlet and one outlet:
- close the openings and run the geometry check
- set water as the fluid, a flow rate at the inlet and the pressure at the outlet
- display the trajectories and locate the area of maximum velocity
