1. Watch the videos

Dassault Systèmes videos hosted on MySolidWorks: they open in a new tab and a free account is enough. Watch them in order.

2. Key takeaways

1

Easy Mode guides you in five steps: ideal for a first image or an occasional user.

2

The import setting matters: group by appearance for a quick image, by part to animate components.

3

CAD Live-Update keeps the link with SOLIDWORKS: a change to the part does not force you to rebuild the scene.

4

Preview mode is for composing the scene; Accurate mode is for the final image.

Tip

Tidy up your SOLIDWORKS assembly before export (named components, appearances applied per part): the Visualize scene tree will be much easier to read.

3. Do the exercise

With one of your parts or a simple assembly:

  • import it into Visualize, grouped by appearance
  • follow the five Easy Mode steps
  • save an image at 1920 × 1080
✓To check: Change a dimension in SOLIDWORKS, then update in Visualize: the scene stays in place with the new geometry.
