Video 2▶Routing: Custom TemplatesCreate and save a routing assembly template with your standards, units and properties.↗
2. Key takeaways
Routing is an add-in you need to activate: it adds the Piping, Tubing and Electrical menus.
Each route lives in a route subassembly that contains the route's 3D sketch, the pipes and the fittings.
Components come from the routing library, whose settings are loaded from the Routing Library Manager.
A custom routing assembly template sets the drafting standard, units and document properties once and for all.
Tip
Create your routing template before your first real project: changing units or the standard afterwards on dozens of routes takes much longer.
3. Do the exercise
Set up your routing environment:
- activate the Routing add-in and locate the Piping and Tubing menus
- from the supplied routing template, create a template in millimeters with your drafting standard
- save it and set it as the template to use for new routes
